Pope’s Prayer Intention for January 2023

DAILY OFFERING:

God, our Father, I offer you my day; I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words,
actions, joys and sufferings in union with your Son Jesus Christ who continues to
offer himself in the Eucharist, for the salvation of the world. May the Holy Spirit
who guided Jesus, be my guide and my strength today so that I may witness to
your love. With Mary, the Mother of the Lord and of the Church. I pray especially for
this month’s intention as proposed by the Holy Father:

PRAYER INTENTION FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2023:

We pray that educators may be credible witnesses, teaching fraternity rather than
competition and helping the youngest and most vulnerable above all.

REFLECTION

The role of educators in every society cannot be underestimated. Their contributions to the growth
and development of humanity and the overall progress of communities is real. In the formal, informal and non-formal spheres, educators inculcate in learners godly values and principles. They become instruments through which knowledge and skills are transmitted to others. Through humility, lovingness, courage, and tolerance, they position themselves to lead others to a better life and godliness.

Educators do not just consider their work as a profession or career rather a divine calling. As a result, they do not only shape the future of generations but also their lives inspire learners to attain greater heights and become better individuals. Educators’ existential reality is very individual glory, educators must propagate the values of fraternity. Educators must seek to produce collaborators more than competitors. Compassion towards young people and vulnerable persons in our societies must remain a mark of educators. In addition, they must be protectors, creating a home in their hearts where young people and vulnerable persons feel welcomed and protected.
