POPE’S INTENTION FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER
Daily Offering:
God, our Father, I offer you my day; I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words, actions, joys and sufferings in union with your Son Jesus Christ who continues to offer himself in the Eucharist, for the salvation of the world. May the Holy Spirit who guided Jesus, be my guide and my strength today so that I may witness to your love. With Mary, the Mother of the Lord and of the Church. I pray especially for this month’s intention as proposed by the Holy Father:
Prayer Intention for December
Volunteer Not-for-Profit Organizations: We pray that volunteer non-profit organizations committed to human development find people dedicated to the common good and ceaselessly seek out new paths to international cooperation. Amen
REFLECTION:
The act of volunteering is a call to selfless love to humanity. Volunteer Not-for-Profit Organizations assist in both the regular and secular spheres without being driven by the desire for profit or prestige. Their priority is the liberation of people from poverty, ill health, illiteracy, just to mention a few through public engagement in the spirit of accompaniment and continual support. By doing so they elevate the social, political and economic status of the marginalized and less privileged ones in our societies and contribute to their integral human development.
These organizations often lack the required resources including dedicated personnel who are motivated by the mission of seeking the common good and not their self-interest. May all Volunteer Not-for-Profit Organizations find people who are dedicated to the common good and ceaselessly seek out new paths to international cooperation through financial, intellectual, and socio-political collaborations with individuals, governments and other organizations. And in their quest to seek their material liberation integrate their spiritual needs so that their wellbeing may be complete.
